Once the chickens have grown enough feathers to keep warm at night, they are moved to the field, where they are free to walk around. Here are some newbies on their first day out in the open.

The chickens (and ducks! Don’t forget the ducks!) get to be about this size at seven weeks.
Together, they live in harmony, where they are free to stretch their legs, eat grass, gobble up bugs, and sunbathe.
At 11 to 12 weeks, chickens are taken to slaughter. Ducks are usually 8 to 10 weeks old. The time for processing is coming up fast, so if you haven’t already ordered your chickens or ducks, head HERE!
